A favorite picture...

Easter....

We had an egg-ceptional Easter. It began by coloring eggs with the community on Friday before Easter and continued with an egg-hunt, races, and scavenger hunt on Saturday. The kids and I won a stained glass cross in the scavenger hunt, and they won prizes in the races...Gracyn won a big stuffed bunny and a cool mad-libs card game. Braeden won a hand-held electronic Yahtzee game. Kaegan loved his lollipop. On Easter Sunday, we got up to baskets of goodies and a community-wide Easter service held in the community gym. Then, we met up with the McClungs for a trek upward for a picnic and to hunt "resurrection" eggs and have our own very meaningful service and to share communion. Then, we hiked up further and hunted candy-filled eggs. We had a beautiful day. When we came back down, we enjoyed hunting for rocks and oohing and ahhing over sparkles and fool's gold.

I meant to include this picture of the view from the front of the house and forgot. So check this out.

The snow-capped mountain is "Red Mountain." One to the left and in front of it with the more rounded top is "Round-Top Mountain."

Sara is right, I haven't posted in a while. It is hard to find a good time to get on the computer. I still need to download pictures from Easter, our Denver fieldtrip, and our first soccer games. In the meantime, go to www.mountainfive.blogspot.com (Mindy's blog) to get a glimpse of what has been going on with us!

We have "Project Fair" projects due this week (Thursday), so that is the big thing we are working on right now. It has been fun to have a difficult time choosing one of Kaegan's many interests to project. Trains aren't the only choice anymore. I tried to order some cocoa beans to make chocolate, but that didn't work out in time, so we are doing a Magic School Bus Inside Kaegan's body kind of a thing. Braeden's project is on measurement/dinosaurs. Gracyn's is on American Slavery. She wrote a diary of an imaginary slave girl from day to day as she is bought, sold, and escapes on the underground railroad. She has really done an excellent job. Braeden's is in the shape (and size) of a 10 foot-long dinosaur, measured in standard units of measure and non-standard. It has been lots of fun to do together.

Here is a house we may lease. http://www.hallrealty.net/Photos/Zeller/zeller2.JPG

Odell is in Houston working 'round the clock until Friday. Then he will be here for a couple of weeks. I'm looking at plane tickets to the Arlington Bookfair with Mindy. I know that Laura is going. Anyone else????

Spring here is very inviting.... Come on up!

The weather here has been remarkable. Kaegan and I went to the park for most of the afternoon to soak up some sun and breathe the fresh air. I noticed that a little shop that has been closed all winter was opened today. We can't wait for the bakery to open up!!! Yum! We are still waiting for you all to come visit us..... Maybe this summer, right?

Kate's Birthday!!

Here are some of our spring break pictures.
Kaegan at the museum. I didn't tell him to pose like that!

Gracyn at the museum, in front of a chemistry exhibit, looking pretty.

Braeden lounging near the triceratops.

Speaking of a triceratops...
I had to throw in a picture of Braeden's favorite hat. He bought it with his birthday money from Clinton and Donna.
